Destructing

I never knew it would hurt this bad. When they tore down my walls, I could not bleed. But I could feel my ghosts screaming in agony. "Do not disturb us," they say. I never knew.

I am not a building, I said. I am a place. I grow. It's what I do. But my ghosts did not like being disturbed, and they tore at me. They howled and thrashed and I could not pacify them. And the pain was unendurable...
